    Welcome to the Ides.

This is Holly & Travis, founders of Facade Games. Hello! For the last several years we’ve been searching for a better way to connect with you, the members of the Facade Games community, and bring you into our day-to-day game-making process. We love what we do (I mean who wouldn’t love making back-stabby board games all day!?) and we want to be better at sharing that joy with you.

Hence, The Ides, (coincidentally?) launched today on the most famous Ides of them all. Once a month, usually around the “ides” or middle of the month, we’ll send out a brief newsletter (hopefully this will be the longest one you’ll ever receive) with a few short sections. We’ll adjust it as we go along, but our hope is that this can be a little bright beacon in your ocean of an inbox. Here goes!

    Found in the wild.

Caught this crew playing Salem in the center of Salem, Mass itself! Doesn't get better than that.

    What we're working on.

Over the last year we’ve been developing deluxe editions of our first 3 games (our first babies!) Salem, Tortuga, and Deadwood. These will include component upgrades, minor rule improvements from the original editions, and “mini-expansions” for each game to give them another lil’ layer of strategy. We have loved revisiting these! They will launch on Kickstarter on April 30!

This month we've been busy finalizing design files, getting in some final play-tests to catch any rule nitty-gritties, and building the launch page and video. Above is a sneak peak at some samples of the new treasure chests and pawns for Tortuga that we just got from the factory! Let us know which game you're most excited for in this one-question survey.

The coolest thing we saw this month.

Last week we went troll-hunting at a nearby park. We found three! This one is named Bibbi, created by Thomas Dambo.
